More easy readers, part II

Sorry for the delay in posting these easy readers.  I guess I let life take over!  My previous blog was a listing of recommended authors that specialize in books listed A-H.  Today I will finish my listing of authors.  So, here we go!

Mick Inkpen~ these are family favorites in our house; primary characters are friendly animals
Apple Jordan~ BARBIE books!!!
Cynthia Klingel~ informative nonfiction books on a variety of subjects (body parts, animals, life experiences)
Marcia Leonard~ realistic fiction books dealing with everyday life experiences of children
Grace Maccarone~ a variety of subjects from monster math to the chicken pox
Mercer Mayer~ these are the famed "Little Critter" books; great for children who like to read a series
Joanne Meier~ primarily about a friendly bear who deals with life (similar to "Little Bear")
Carey Molter~ nonfiction books on animals and letter sounds
Beverley Randell~ primarily about animal characters who act like children, also realistic fiction about the life experiences of children
Cynthia Rylant~ a personal favorite of mine; the adventures of a puppy named "Mudge"
Mary Elizabeth Salzmann~ fiction books that introduce word sounds
Esther Sarfatti~ nonfiction books that introduce numbers
Dave Sargent~ extensive collection of fiction books about animals
Mary Manz Simon~ simple Bible stories are retold in a format appropriate for younger children
Hans Wilhelm~ fiction books about a dog that goes through experiences related to children

This is list is a starting point.  I'd recommend going to arbookfind and looking up these authors and their corresponding books.  Then, you can check your school and public library database to find books available in your area.  (If this is too difficult, I'll give directions in the near future!)

Happy reading,
Susanne
